Released just last week, U2’s latest album “Songs of Experience” is on the way to becoming the band’s eighth No1 album. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for tour dates.
Could a tour announcement be just around the corner?
Their “Songs of Experience” is hot off the press and already soaring in the charts. According to the Billboard 200, which ranks the most popular albums according to traditional album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums, U2 are set to take the top spot at the end of this week. Bono and the band’s fourteenth album was once of the most anticipated records of this year and followed a lengthy promotional campaign involving fans receiving cryptic messages in the post.
This weekend, U2 performed two tracks on “Saturday Night Live” giving fans a taster of their new material onstage. Playing “American Soul” and “Get Out of Your Own Way”, both from the new album, the foursome wowed the audience.
U2 concluded their epic “The Joshua Tree Tour 2017” commemorating the 30th anniversary of their 1987 album on 25th October after playing a total of 51 gigs worldwide. After a sell-out Twickenham Stadium gig, we’re hoping for another London date (or two) for their upcoming tour dates.
