As part of Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month, The Killers played a three-song set including their take of David Bowie’s “Fame”. They also played “The Man” from their upcoming album and “Mr Brightside”.

Effortlessly good

As usual, The Killers are killing it. With their fifth album in the pipeline for 22nd September, Brandon Flowers and his band haven’t taken their feet off the gas this year. They have already released three singles from the upcoming “Wonderful Wonderful” which prove them to be just as slick as their “Sam’s Town” days in 2006.

September is BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month with some of the biggest names taking to the studio. This week alone, Chris Martin delivered an outstanding acoustic session, London Grammar covered Prince and Harry Styles sang Fleetwood Mac.

Yesterday was The Killers’ turn in the Live Lounge’s hallowed grounds. They didn’t disappoint. Performing a short three-song set, they played their legendary “Hot Fuss” hit, “Mr Brightside”, the lead single “The Man” from their upcoming album and pulled off a fantastic cover of David Bowie’s “Fame”.

The 70s smash hit turned out to be a perfect fit for the band. Brandon Flowers’ effortlessly good vocals gave the song a Killers’ touch complete with that slinky guitar riff we know so well from Bowie’s original. Flowers was clearly loving the experience and he was right to. The cover could have almost been their own song. Check it out.

Don't miss The Killers!
