Could Arctic Monkeys be joining Madrid’s Mad Cool line-up?

Rumours have been flying around over the past few weeks on whether Arctic Monkeys might be about to confirm their return with a headline appointment for Madrid’s Mad Cool festival which, if you didn’t know, already has an epic line-up.

“AM6” to be released this year

Fans have already given their yet-to-be-announced and upcoming album a name. Dubbed “AM6”, Arctic Monkeys confirmed their sixth album for a 2018 release back in September and as any switched-on music fiend knows: where there’s an album, there are live appearances.

Madrid’s Mad Cool festival has already announced a stellar line-up for 2018 and the 3-day event is set to be one of the biggest dates in music this year. With Tame Impala, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age, Franz Ferdinand, Depeche Mode and Kasabian already on the bill, the only thing missing is a headliner for the second day.

If rumours on social media pointing to Arctic Monkeys filling the space are to be believed, a 2018 festival appearance would certainly confirm a confident return for the Sheffield foursome. The band took a 18-month hiatus back in 2014 to pursue other projects and got back in the studio in September 2017.
