Photos have surfaced on social media that prove that Muse are back in the studio. They’re back working with their longtime friend and collaborator, Rich Costey.
No album yet, but stream of singles and EPs on the way
Muse fans can expect a couple of early Christmas presents before the end of the year. The band have told fans that they’ll have be patient in the wait for their eighth album, but that they can expect a series of singles and EPs, or “even more”.
Sharing photos of themselves back in the studio in Los Angeles, our favourite trio are back working once again with the prolific music producer, Rich Costey, who was also involved in the band’s third and fourth albums, “Absolution” and “Black Holes and Revelations”. This could well be a little teaser for what we are to expect for their eighth record.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the band had been recording new music in London’s Air Studios where Matt Bellamy & co apparently got three songs down, one “heavy” and the others, “not really”. Their latest surprise single, “Dig Down”, was released in May this year.
In a interview over the summer, Matt Bellamy talked about how the band might explore using more electronic or orchestral elements as opposed to their classic guitar-bass-drums approach. We’re looking forward to hearing the result. Watch this space for new Muse-ic.
