Listen to Tame Impala’s three brand new songs

Premiering on Zane Lowe’s Beat 1 radio show, Tame Impala have released three brand new songs that previously didn’t make it onto their 2015 “Currents” album. Our favourite Australian psychedelic rockers release a deluxe reissue of their third album today.

“Currents B-Sides and Remixes”

Cleverly coinciding with the release of their deluxe red-marbled vinyl “Currents Collectors Edition” today, Tame Impala have dropped a new EP featuring three brand new songs, a new Gum remix and a previously shared Soulwax remix.

Chatting with Zane Lowe on his Apple Music Beats 1 Radio show, Tame Impala’s brains-behind-the-music Kevin Parker explained that he had written the first track, “List of People (To Try to Forget About)”, towards the end of making the band’s 2012 record “Lonerism”.

By the time I got to finish it I was really satisfied with it as a song, and as a chunk of my creativity and emotion and stuff.

Following it is “Powerlines”, a bass-heavy wandering instrumental track, and “Taxi’s Here”, a dreamy down-tempo number that shows Kevin Parker at his very best. Also featuring on “Currents B-Sides and Remixes” is the previously shared Soulwax remix of “Let It Happen” and a new Gun remix of “Reality In Motion”.

We’re looking forward to Kevin Parker’s upcoming projects. Last month, it was revealed that he has been working on a collaborative album with vocalist SZA and Mark Ronson.
